SDS, Sdml, Sdxl Rotary Slips
SDS, SDML, and SDXL swivel sleeves
describe
Drillpipe can accommodate from 23/8 to 51/2 in. (60.3 to 139.7 mm) OD. They are classified as short type (SDS), medium type (SDML) and ultra-long type (SDXL) according to the clamping length. The SDS slips are designed for shallow hole drilling and the SDML slips are designed for drilling
The SDXL slips are ideal for all medium depth drilling and are suitable for deep drilling.
Technical parameters
Drill pipe slips have a taper diameter of 4 "/ ft and are otherwise appropriate to allow for use in standard main bushings. The drill pipe to be processed must always use the correct size drill pipe slips. Piping with a smaller slip than a rig can damage the pipe and slip Angle and may completely drop the drillstring, so it is critical to choose the correct size and use it to avoid catastrophic damage to the drillstring, with too large a slip string not coming into contact with the drill string. There are pipes everywhere all the time and there is a risk of them falling off and damaging the central part of the gripping surface.
The SD type drill pipe slips can accommodate 2-3/8 to 7 inches of drill pipe. They are short (SDS), medium (SDML), and very long (SDML). The SDS mud is designed for shallow hole drilling, the SDML mud is ideal for all medium depth drilling, and the SDXL mud is designed for deep hole drilling. The sliders are designed and manufactured according to API SPEC 7K and SY/T 5049 sliders for drilling. It is suitable for handling drill pipe to explore oil and gas in oil well drilling operation, and is a necessary tool for coupling and decoupling.
